Shape Your Work in AI — Starting Where You Are
Three structured tracks — from evening Python foundations to a shipped AI system — designed for people who hold down a full working day and want to build something solid alongside it.
Three Tracks
From Cold Start to Shipped System
Each track is a billet with a published intensity table. Nobody enrols without reading the weekly hour count and assessment load first.
WS-001 · 8 weeks · 7 hrs/week
Cold Start: Foundations
Python, the command line, version control, data handling and enough statistics to read a result honestly. Taught in the evenings at a pace that assumes a full working day beforehand.
- Weekly exercises with written feedback
- Recorded library access
- Staffed cohort channel
- Twice-weekly office hours
- Written record of course completion
WS-002 · 16 weeks · 12 hrs/week
Hot Work: Applied Model Development
Model architectures, training loops, fine-tuning, evaluation design and the engineering that surrounds them. Intensity table published before enrolment — no surprises after you join.
- Four assessed projects
- Tutor code review
- GPU credits included
- Architecture clinics
- Written record of course completion
WS-003 · 24 weeks · Mentored
Tempering: Capstone & Career Workshops
Ends with one shipped system, one written technical report and one recorded defence. Weekly mentoring from a practising engineer. Workshops on writing, portfolio construction and interviews.
- Cloud credits included
- Hosted demonstration page
- Alumni network introductions
- Continuing forum access
- Written record of course completion
What Sets Weightsmith Apart
Built for Working Adults, Not Full-Time Students
Evening Pacing
Sessions run in the evenings. The weekly hour count is stated before enrolment, not discovered mid-track. You keep your day job while you build the skill.
Honest Intensity Tables
Every track publishes its weekly hours and assessment load before you sign up. Numbers are not softened. You decide whether the load fits your schedule.
Code Review on Real Work
Applied tracks include tutor code review on submitted projects — not automated grading. Feedback addresses your specific implementation choices.
GPU Credits Provided
Hot Work includes GPU credits so training runs are not limited by your personal hardware budget. You practise on the same kind of infrastructure used professionally.
Written Completion Record
Each track issues a written record of course completion. It states what was covered, the assessment outcomes and the hours logged — specific enough to be useful on a portfolio.
Alumni Network Access
Tempering graduates receive introductions to the alumni network and continuing forum access. The community is small enough that introductions are actual introductions.
Next Cohort
Which track fits where you are right now?
Start with the Cold Start foundations if Python is new to you. Move to Hot Work once you can read and write code with some confidence. Tempering is for people who want to end with a working system they built themselves.
